Qarah Care respects and upholds the rights of older people receiving aged care supports.
We are committed to providing services that promote dignity, respect, safety, independence, choice, privacy and quality of life.
Clients have the right to:
Be treated with dignity, respect and kindness
Receive safe, appropriate and quality supports
Be involved in decisions about their care and services
Have their choices, preferences, culture, identity and way of life respected
Be listened to and communicated with in a way they can understand
Have their privacy and personal information protected
Feel safe and be free from abuse, neglect, discrimination and poor treatment
Raise concerns, provide feedback or make complaints without fear of negative treatment
Have family, representatives, advocates or other support people involved where they choose
Receive services that are responsive to their needs, routines, goals and preferences
Qarah Care works alongside clients, families, representatives, care partners and registered aged care providers to understand each person’s needs, preferences, risks and support requirements.
Where services are delivered in collaboration with a registered aged care provider, Qarah Care follows agreed care arrangements, provider requirements and relevant aged care quality and safety expectations.
If you have concerns about your care or services, you can speak with Qarah Care, your registered aged care provider, a representative, an advocate or the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission.
